The only minor negative is that street the hotel is located on is super congested and busy. The parking situation (pretty much anywhere in downtown Portland) is less than desirable so we paid for the valet parking. The atmosphere of the hotel is elegant without feeling pretentious and the staff are friendly and helpful. The location is great as many shops and dining venues are within walking distance. We stayed at the Dossier for an overnight girl's getaway. In short, would we return to this hotel during our next overnight in Portland - yes, definitely. One thing we particularly liked was that the hotel offered a special "parking included" rate which is a very good deal. We did miss, however, the Daily Grill which has been replaced by a new restaurant Rosa Rosa which we didn't try. We also noticed the rooms have been updated as has the overall appearance of the interior. Just little things, but they all added up. And when we checked out, the lady behind the front desk made it a point to leave from behind the desk to open the front doors of the hotel for us.

For example, staff at the hotel are extremely welcoming - and although it isn't a big deal, we liked being genuinely told "Welcome back!" when we returned each time from walking around Portland.

But as good as the Westin was, the new management/owners of this hotel have made this venue an even better place to stay with many subtle, but noticeable changes for the better. We stayed in this hotel when it was a Westin property and very much enjoyed it then.
