They are only allowed to upgrade no more than 3 at one time. They shouldn't focus on nothing but residential. I don't want to lose 75% pops because I made an error while calculating nonexistent datas. TL DR - It's a game, let me manage house upgrade. Because I can't toggle house upgrade on/off. But, if you miscalculate before researching the architecture change, that electricity shortage because they focus on residential and do nothing else generate a water shortage, then food shortage, then nuggets dying, then cemetry full then all zone goes infected. That make a shortage in resources and in water/electricity depending on age. When you change age, they focus 100% on upgrading residential.

Whatever you decide, something desperately needs to be done. One that allows us to further get into advanced features of turning off and on certain upgrades for anything and everything. In fact, a far more in-depth system would be even better.

However, I think the easy fix is simply to implement a feature that allows us to turn off housing upgrades. This is not a matter of making the game more difficult it is simply a broken system. This is making the game EXTREMELY tedious and boring. I have absolutely every research point and I am unable to build 50% of the other buildings because I don't have the correct factories and materials to do so. I have at least 10 Iron Mines going and none of the buildings I want to build or upgrade is getting these materials and they are FAR more important than the house upgrades currently. I thought maybe there was a command I was missing somewhere that would allow you to simply turn off the house upgrades. I actually found this thread searching for an answer to this problem.
